Thought I’d drop another reminder that film is not dead yet. While it may not be quick, easy or cheap it is still one of the few zen experiences we, as photographers, can still attain without the introduction of chemicals to our bodies.
Remembering: Film
Posted by Jinxt -- February 12th, 2010I’ve been on a vintage camera kick lately, finding a Yashica Mat 124, Yashica Electro 35 GSN Rangefinder and the below pictured Minolta Hi-Matic 7S. These days digital has made everything so quick and easy it’s almost heartbreaking to see the serious lack of respect photography is currently receiving. My public service announcement for the day is: Slow down, take a step back and go shoot a roll of film. Grab an all-manual body and a light meter and reflect upon where our modern equipment came from. Afterward, your digital equipment will take on a whole new light and you just may start looking at things a little different.
Know your roots.

Posted by Jinxt -- November 19th, 2009Howdy all. My name is Joey and I shoot under the guise of Jinxt Photo here in Newport News, VA.
I’ll pop my Obscura cherry with a couple shots of JenniM [MM#799732] whom I met, along with Chris Bautista, at a meet & greet.
