Sparx

I was lucky and got a free trip to anywhere east of california.  (JetBlue has weird flights).  So I went out to Austin and met Sarah Sparx, and MUA Sara Eudy.  They rock.  We created this:

Sterile.

I really been wanting to do something sterile. Plain. Colorless, but not black and white. Still needed to retain that Destroy Inc style….sooo…

Experimenting

I hardly ever do black and whites. Not that I hate them, I just…need to do them. I want to do more black and whites. I want to do more sexy shots. And so here is my attempt at it.

Yeah, I did post another from the series about two weeks ago…so if you wanna see alittle more, go check it out. This one is more DOF and closer up. I always do full/two thirds. Its nice to have something else. Its nicer that its Erins booty. As my friend Eric would say ” fdhsdfhsdkjfsdkjfhksdjfhkj O_O”

Its always hot in Phoenix

Phoenix in the summer time is hot.  I mean really hot.  105 at midnight?  Easy!  114 all day!?  Not a problem.

Why?  These ladies live there…..

Miss Erin

I’ve been trying lately to capture a photo that was sexy and captivating. I wanted to have that natural, non-studio look. I got some cool stuff in the past, but I really dig this one…

Miss Erin Brown

Photo is all natural lighting with a Nikon 35mm at 1.8 aperture. To get that sweet DOF and grab all the light I can.

Miss Piper Tschirhart

..is amazing.  Ever had a shoot where you couldn’t stop shooting cause everything was just kicking so much ass?  I felt like this with Piper.  We shoot about 6 different ideas over the course of the night.  She’s…just wonderful to shoot.  Elegant, beautiful, and sexy.  I can’t wait for another meeting.

Scattered across my Model Mayhem, DeviantArt, and Flickr you will find more of her.  This photo below was just another gem I had to post.

Massacre at Night

Megan came to california to visit!  So we made something that kicks ass.

Morrigan of Valediction and Calamity

Worked my butt off on this thing.  Model: Precious Little, MUA/Hair K.D Nguyen.

Off the beaten path

I still consider myself fairly new to photography.  I still feel the need to experiment outside of developing style.  My latest experimentations dive into color treatment to give a more nostalgic feel.  Not that my stuff goes way back in feeling, but I like the lack of really dark colors in this new piece.  As you can see, still not fully detaching from the Destroy Inc grunge, but I felt it was a nice blend of new and old.

Model is Darling Kyttie.

And one year later

Hello again! To get to the point of this post, I am here to present you a photo from one year ago. I took this of Ms Jess Hawk one year ago on my cross country trip (I drove from California to Virginia..yes drove coast to coast). I decided to revisit our shoot in hopes of getting inspired,  and just for fun.   A year of experiences, I approached it with a new eye. I also thought it would be cool to experiment on colors and curves. So I went to town…here is my result!

‘Urban Apocalypse’ and teamwork.

I created a new piece of work recently, pictured below, called ‘Urban Apocalypse’ featuring Tara Ryze and clothing designer Eirik Aswang. The reason for this blog title is to just say with some teamwork, you get some really amazing work. I personally enjoy collaborative efforts…kinda like this blog! Art can expand and go in ways you never dream when you just open it up to others.

The below piece was a collaborative effort by a model, a designer, and myself. Tara Ryze comes from Flordia, and I am in California. She came 3000+ miles to work with me. I was super honored. She’s a fantastic versatile model, and really was able to bring out that bad ass chick I needed for this. Eirik Aswang is my local clothing design hero. That man works insanely hard on his stuff…and its insanely and epically amazing. The three of us came together, and with some teamwork, and brought to life ‘Urban Apocalypse’.

We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

Las Vegas!!!

Hello again.

Today’s post is about an Las Vegas trip I made about a month ago.  I decided to take a quick 1 day trip to work with two very lovely and very talented models.  For this trip I would be shooting Cristina, also known as GoGo and CRASH.  Both are super awesome ladies.

I was staying in the awesome Planet Hollywood hotel.  Each room is movie themed.  Mine was “JAWS”.  Which worked out ok, cause it wasn’t over done in the room, and I really got to just utilize the room as is.

First I got to shoot Cristina.  One of the most easy going, chill, laid back girls I ever shot.  We got straight into shooting and this is a result we got.

Shes rad.  I love her tattoos.  I’m currently working on another shot, which is much more crazier and well more me.  Be sure to look out for that.  We cranked out both shoots in about 1.5 hours.  Super fast!  We talked briefly on living the Vegas life, and then parted.  GoGo…you rock.

After that, CRASH stopped on by for a night of FUN.  She’s amazing.  She brought a whole bag of clothes, and we picked out 5 outfits to shoot with.  We got right into shooting, and already started turning some amazing results.

Crash!!!!

Crash, is so awesome!  Any idea I threw at her, she was down.  Any idea she threw at me was gold.  It was just a great night of collaboration and good times.

You can see more CRASH on my Flickr Stream:

To sum up the trip, it was freaking amazing.  Both girls made it so worth it and wonderful!

Kill/Destroy LA 09

This being my first post, I decided to start it off with a big event I just did about 3 weeks ago.  I assembled a photo team, and we decided to take over Los Angeles.  Ok, well just visit, but still.  Armed with 2 makeup artists, a hairstylist, 4 fashion designers, and 16 models, we had the best three days of shooting. We shoot in the downtown LA area at Kevin Breaks Studio (I highly recommend).  We had three days solidly booked.   Here are a few candid’s before we go further!

1- Anna Beth & Loriel.   2 – Loriel.  3 – Alisha &Veronica.  4 – Alisha & Amor, Cici doing hair.  5 – Mosh playing with Sparky

So just to fill ya in on what we had in store, Here’s what it looked like:

Tuesday – Stephanie Stone, Loriel Andrea, Veronica Von Sant, Airica, and Tweek Terror
Wednesday – Amor, Nikki, Lana, Heater Mackay, Iaasac Mascote, Dominic Andrew, and Mosh
Thursday – Rachel Lehcar, Monika RK, Bekah, Candince, Giza, and Amy Blackwood

These are also the awesome fashion designers we had on board:

So after 3 days of working with all these awesome people, we felt pretty good with ourselves.  The trip was decided was a total success, and that another was gonna happen no matter what.  So we may be coming to a city near you!  The ultimate goal of this trip is to create a new online alternative magazine.  The first issue will be release in late may, so look forward to that.  We will have a full social network and PDF download available. We really wanna create something for ourselves.  This will give us, models, and other contributors a chance to display themselves.  It also won’t be done in a traditional monthly style magazine.  Each issue will be completely unique and a new experience each time.

So to wrap it up, here are a few previews from the trip.

1 – Airicaa.  2 – Lani.  3 – Monika RK and Jason.  4 – You know who ;)
