Thought I’d drop another reminder that film is not dead yet. While it may not be quick, easy or cheap it is still one of the few zen experiences we, as photographers, can still attain without the introduction of chemicals to our bodies.

Dude, I have been playing with film again recently and it is an entirely different experience. However, if you’ve ever spent hours in a lab developing film and hours in the darkroom printing, you know that you are introducing some nasty chemicals into your body…and you don’t even catch a buzz!
I hear you. I’ve been doing run-of-the-mill C-41 processing in a Jobo so the chemicals aren’t nearly as bad as my days in the B&W darkroom used to be (I almost miss the smell of stop-bath sometimes though it’s nice to have clothing without fixer stains everywhere). I really should have designated “recreational chemicals” in my post.
